Honduran Private Company announce its first international market emission

Inversiones Atlántida S.A. (INVATLAN), company member of Grupo Financiero Atlántida, one of the most prestigious Groups in the Republic of Honduras, announced the past July 31st its first bond emission in the International Market for USD 150 million to a five-year plan. This is the first transaction of its kind in the private sector, marking a milestone in the country. Without any doubt, the transaction also reflects the company’s strength.

García & Bodán participated in this transaction without precedents as local advisors of the company Oppenheimer & Co., an American company with wide experience in capital markets; which was in charge of the bonds’ placements in the Singapore’s Stock Market.

The legal advice on the part of García & Bodán in Honduras was accomplished by Vanessa Oquelí, Managing Partner, with the support of Godofredo Siercke, Senior Associate.

The lawyers Oquelí and Siercke worked assiduously on the due diligence carried out for the company, as well as in the review and elaboration of the different documents of the transaction. Also, they performed the analysis of all the applicable legal framework for this novel and important transaction, having issued for such purposes the correspondent legal opinions and the required local guarantee documents.

Besides the local advice of García & Bodán, the company Oppenheimer & Co. counted with international counsel from the American law firm Greenberg Taurig. On the other hand Inversiones Atlántida S.A. (INVATLAN) had the international counsel of the prestigious American law firm Sherman & Sterling and the local counsel of the law firm Lopez Rodezno y Asociados.
