Sanitary Sewerage and Wastewater Treatment Plant Works in Honduras

A contracting process has been opened for the “Construction II Stage of the Works of Sanitary Sewerage and Wastewater Treatment Plant of the Urban Area of the Municipality of Guajiquiro, Department of La Paz.

The works consist of improvements to the access to the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Honduras, general cleaning of the works, works for the completion of the desander, construction of internal structures of the Anaerobic Ascending Flow Reactor (RAFA), construction of the Anaerobic Ascending Flow Filter (FAFA), all the necessary works are foreseen for the completion of the polishing lagoon.

The funds come from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) through the Cooperation Fund for Water and Sanitation (FCAS), funds from the Municipalities of the municipalities of Guajiquiro and Mercedes de Oriente in the department of La Paz and community contribution funds. The execution will be carried out within the framework of the activities of the project “Increase of Water and Sanitation Coverage and Integrated Management of the Lower and Middle Basin of the Goascorán River”.

The project will have a duration of 210 calendar days, counted from the date indicated in the Starting Order. At no time should the deadline for works exceed the date of January 31st, 2020 by disposition of cooperation funds.
