Rural Sustainable Development Program in the South Region of Honduras
Secretaría de Agricultura y Ganadería through Unidad Administradora de Proyectos (UAP by its acronyms in Spanish) invites to present offers for the Rural Sustainable Development Program in the South Region of Honduras.
Said organizations invite to provide: Supply of tools and equipment to producer groups beneficiaries of the Emprendesur Program, to do activities of adaptation to the climate changes and food safety. The considered departments are divided in the following lots:
- Lot Nº 1 (65 kits): Choluteca Department
- Lot Nº 2 (32 kits): El Paraiso Department
- Lot Nº 3 (55 kits): Francisco Morazán Department
- Lot Nº 4 (28 kits) La Paz Department
Among the supplies requested are found:

- Machete
- Shovel
- Rake
- Wheelbarrow
- Excavation bar
Emprendesur Program seeks to catalyze an innovative development rural territory process, focused in communities and organizations, with an intercultural, intergenerational and gender perspective, looking for the effective social and economic capitalization of their entrepreneur individuals, rural young and women; the transformation of the productive activities of subsistence in rural viable businesses oriented to the dynamic markets; the assistance to commercialization, transformation and promotion of small businesses and the rural financial services; the rehabilitation and conservation of the natural resources, and the consolidation of an institutional and operational frame, that contributes to the rural development at national level.
The objective is to acquire 180 kits of work tools and equipment of agroforestry use for the producer groups, to reduce the food vulnerability and to reduce the risks of the small producers dealing with manifestations of climate changes, through the establishment of land conservation works, establishment of family orchards and actions as fire control, reforestation and other activities that benefit the community.
