Project Beltway of Puerto Cortés in Honduras

The project beltway of Puerto Cortés belongs to the Trust of “Execution of Infrastructure and Public Services Works in the Republic of Honduras”.

This project will complement the Logistic Corridor works. It will help to solve the difficulties caused by the constant traffic flow, especially the one of heavy vehicles that mobilize from and to the terminal zones in Puerto Cortés. This has made precarious the urban growth, the fast deterioration of the roads, road safety and the habitants’ quality life.

The proposal includes two phases:

Phase I: Construction of a bridge between the neighborhoods of Pueblo Nuevo and La Laguna, the construction of a third concrete road of 780 meters, a double bridge elevated to access the land of the ENP, alternate exit from the ENP of 400 meters, entrance and exit of the burden terminal, old exit road to San Pedro Sula of 2.1 kilometers, expansion of the bridge over the Medina river old exit, future expansions, derivative shed of traffic between Pueblo Nuevo and El Porvenir.

Phase II: Construction of an overpass in the road CA-13 in the neighborhood El Porvenir, an overpass in the road CA-5 access boulevard, a boulevard of three trails of 5 kilometers on the shores of Laguna de Alvarado, loading terminal filling, bridge of 150 meters that connects phase I and phase II.

Currently the project is approved by the Council of Ministers and National Congress.

Estimated cost of investment: USD 26.57 millions
