More than 1.1 billion Quetzals for highways construction in Guatemala

As part of the project to recover the country’s road network, the Government of Guatemala, through the Ministry of Communication, Infrastructure and Housing, will execute a budget of about one thousand one hundred million quetzales for highways construction, said the head of the portfolio, José Luis Benito.

For this set of construction activities, Guatecompras already has the bases of the corresponding bids, so that interested parties can present their bids.

In the words of the Minister of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing: “This investment includes maintenance work on dirt roads, the paved network, civil works exhaust, bridge maintenance, vertical and horizontal signalling and crack sealing. He added: “We invite companies to participate in the projects and that have the ability to bid and comply, we hope that all meet the requirements requested for the award.

The execution of this planning is projected to surpass the budgetary execution of the previous year, in which the communications portfolio was the one that had the best budgetary and financial fulfillment of the cabinet of President Jimmy Morales. The improvement of highways, in turn, is intended to be a boost to economic growth and infrastructure development in the country, so it is expected that compliance with that planning will be successful.
