Project of Fish Processing Plant in Nicaragua

The project of Fish Processing Plant in Nicaragua consists in ensuring that the fishery products in territorial waters may be processed in national plants.

Said project, called Fish processing plant, creation of cold chain for fishery products and acquisition of new fishing fleet, pretends to construct five ice plants with capacity of 10 tons (two machines of 5 tons each), one in each following location: Casares, Masachapa, Jiquilillo, Puerto Cabezas and Laguna de Perlas.

Also, it seeks the acquisition of 5 insulated trucks for the transfer of frozen fishery products.

The fishing system consists in small boats with stationary motors between 95-150hp. It will be set 10 in the Caribbean and 5 in the Pacific, with 19-25 m of length, 11 crewmen and storage capacity of 20,000 pounds, since it will be used as a collecting boat and to storage supplies for the fishermen on board.

Estimated cost of investment: USD 50 million
