Improvement of Road Muy Muy – Matiguás – Río Blanco in Nicaragua

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, through the Central American Bank of Economic Integration (BCIE, by its acronyms in Spanish), promotes the tender “Improvement of Road Muy Muy – Matiguás – Río Blanco” Section I: Station 137+400 to Station 159+956, Section II: Station 159+956 to Station 177+948 and Section III: Station 177+948 to Station 195+940.

The project consists in the construction of 58.50km, consisting the works, among others, in the substitution of transverse drainage that is in bad condition, solutions for the elimination of groundwater through the construction of filters or other elements that ensure the evacuation of the same, construction of longitudinal drainage works, ground movement required for the elimination of inadequate material and the reposition of borrow materials to conform the dirt road.

The structure of the paving will be conformed as minimum, by a stabilized baseplate with cement of 20cm thick. Over that structure will be placed hydraulic concrete slabs of 18cm thick. The road will be composed by 2 lanes of 3.50 meters wide with shoulders of 1.20 meter, including the respective road signage. It will also be necessary to make a structural valuation for the reinforcement of the bridges: Matiguás, Bul Bul, Río Saiz, Río Paiwas, La Ponzoña and Río Blanco.
