García & Bodán assisted Crocs, Inc. on antipiracy matters

García & Bodán El Salvador has assisted Crocs, Inc., the worldwide leader in innovative casual footwear for men, women and children. The legal advice was provided in enforcement of antipiracy matters, to stop and seize an important amount of products that were infringing Crocs IP rights. The work was successfully leaded by Julio Vargas, Managing Partner of García & Bodán El Salvador Office and Regional Director of the IP practice of the firm and Rodrigo Benítez, Paralegal of the IP Litigation Department, and was initiated at the Acajutla Port of El Salvador in the city of Sonsonate, where border measures were effectively applied.

As a consequence, criminal claims were initiated before the Attorney General Office in Sonsonate, where the Port of Acajutla is located.

After a negotiation with the counterpart, an agreement was reached with the infringing party, who compensated Crocs for the infringement, and proceeded with the destruction of 13,200 pairs of shoes, under the supervision of the Judge and the local police.
