Contracting for the new Hospital Dr. Maximiliano Peralta Jiménez construction

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) approved financing for the Republic of Costa Rica for the development of the Regional Hospital Infrastructure Strengthening Program to finance the design, construction, and equipment of the new Dr. Maximiliano Peralta Jiménez Hospital in the province of Cartago.

The contractor will be selected in accordance with the procedures stipulated in Law No. 7494 Ley de Contratación Administrativa (Administrative Contracting Law) and its Regulations in the Republic of Costa Rica.

Public bidding for the contracting of a construction company with remarkable experience for the design and construction of civil, architectural, and structural works, hydraulic and sanitary installations, mechanical and electrical installations, medical and industrial equipment, and maintenance of the project for the New Dr. Maximiliano Peralta Jiménez Hospital, Cartago in accordance with all the documents included in the bid and in compliance with all applicable national, international and institutional norms and regulations, is publicly tendered.

This infrastructure project will set a precedent in the modernization and development of health sector.  The hospital’s new headquarters will provide the medical services it currently renders to its direct and indirect population. The aim is to overcome the years of backwardness in terms of technology, equipment, and infrastructure. In addition, this new facility will strengthen the Health Services Network.

The project was approved by the CCSS, by its acronym in spanish, on January 26th, 2022, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the death of the illustrious physician Maximiliano Peralta Jiménez.

The project will be located in El Tejar, El Guarco, province of Cartago, Costa Rica, with a land area of 118,883.00 m2 and a construction area of 89,598.41 m2.

Estimated investment cost: USD 43,848,125.40

Deadline for receipt of bids: May 19th, 2022.
