Construction of Rail Transport System in Guatemala
The State of Guatemala through the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing will modernize the public transportation system of Guatemala City by the construction of an urban electric train of passengers. This project, called Construction of Rail Transport System, will give a quality leap to the current public transportation system, reducing long bus trips and minimizing traffic jams. Said train will have the capacity to carry out 250 thousand trips per day.
It is estimated that it will have 20 stations and 34 trains that will be able to move in the five sectors of 21 kilometers, connecting with different tracks of the city.

- Reduction in travel times (the entire route will be made in 40 minutes).
- Security and comfort for the users.
- Integration of the new transportation system with the existing ones (Transmetro and Transurbano).
Estimated cost of investment: USD 700 million
