20 years of García & Bodán
García & Bodán is celebrating its 20th anniversary, but it is a dream that dates back 30 years; a dream shared by Terencio García and Gladys Bodán, an idea that has been improving over time.
Having materialized this dream leaves a feeling of achievement and satisfaction to Terencio García, Regional Managing Partner of a firm that managed to transcend borders in an organic way; always guided by professional ethics and values that characterize them.
“In addition to this feeling, there is the satisfaction of being able to contribute in a decisive, objective and practical way to the socio-economic development of the region. We have been a major player in many of the large privatizations, acquisitions, and mergers that have taken place in Central America,” says García.
Vision, discipline, responsibility, perseverance and professional ethics, were the keys to bring García & Bodán to where it is now. “From the beginning we were clear that we wanted to make García & Bodán a Central American firm. We knew that in order to achieve this we needed to reach the satisfaction of our clients, always giving the extra mile; so that their business would be carried out to the end expected by them.
It is not easy to get a luxury clientele like the one we enjoy today. The doors were often closed to us, but we would touch them again. They didn’t exist, especially in the beginning when we were young people. And it was difficult to convince us that we had the capacity to do it, but the insistence and perseverance, allowed us to get to where we are,” concludes García.
That resilience has allowed García & Bodán to remain one of the most recognized firms in the region. In spite of the difficulties that are being experienced, as a result of the pandemic that is plaguing humanity, García & Bodán affirms that it will emerge even stronger. “We are not lowering our guard, on the contrary, we are approaching our clients to tell them that we are here to support and serve them.
In conclusion, Terencio García firmly believes that the word has power, so he shares a message for all people who, like him, dare to dream: “Go for the right path, go for ethics. Do not be discouraged by the vicissitudes and difficulties, those are always there. There is no path without obstacles, no path without barriers; the important thing is to know how to face them, to go little by little, and above all to know that every day things can be done better.
