Vanessa de León is Senior Associate and Head of the Intellectual Property practice area of García & Bodán in Guatemala.
She has great experience advising national and multinational companies in the legal procedure and strategies for the coordination, registration, protection, and defense of their intellectual property assets.
Her practice within intellectual property stands out in the management of national and international clients’ brand portfolio, coordination abroad of trademark registration and other distinctive signs, management of invention patent applications, utility models, industrial designs, protection copyright, among others.
Previously, she was in charge of the Intellectual Property Department of one of the companies within the Guatemalan industry dedicated to the manufacture, distribution and commercialization of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, advising all companies belonging to the corporation on matters related to the management of the portfolio of national and international brands, innovation, copyrights, denomination of origin, commercial contracting, confidentiality, transfer of rights, protection of copyrights, trademark coexistence and license of use.
Likewise, she worked in the Intellectual Property area of law firms in Guatemala, providing legal advice regarding the registration, control and administration of distinctive signs and the procurement of them before the Intellectual Property Registry.
