The National Service of Agrifood Health and Safety (SENASA) has made official, through Agreement C.D. SENASA 002-2025, a reform to the Service Fee Regulations that introduces a new schedule of charges for tests conducted by the National Laboratory for Residue Analysis (LANAR).
The update, published on July 12, 2025, in La Gaceta, details more than 300 fees covering microbiological and chemical tests applicable to meats, dairy products, fish, fruits, vegetables, honey, water, soils, animal feed, and other agrifood products.
The examinations include detection of bacteria such as Salmonella spp or Listeria monocytogenes, quantification of pesticide residues, heavy metals, and veterinary substances, as well as analyses of physical, chemical, and biological contaminants. Among the new fees are:
Meats and meat products:
- Isolation and identification of Salmonella spp (USDA/MLG): L 800.00
- Confirmatory test for E. coli O157:H7: L 7,640.00
- Detection of E. coli non-O157 STEC (PCR): L 4,222.00
- Staphylococcus aureus count: L 700.00
- Multi-residue pesticides (LC-MS/MS and GC-MS): L 6,172.00

SENASA emphasized that the adjustment seeks to strengthen sanitary and phytosanitary controls, facilitate domestic and international trade of agricultural products, and ensure compliance with national and international food safety standards.
