Investment Project

Rehabilitation of sections in the Los Catrachos and Cooperativa Unión y Lucha sectors, Municipality of El Negrito, Department of Yoro, Honduras

The Government of the Republic of Honduras through the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Transportation (SIT, for its acronym in spanish) invites construction companies to submit bids for the project: “Rehabilitation of riverbank sections on the left bank of the Guaymón River and right bank of the Estero de Indios Canal and protection works, Los Catrachos and Cooperativa Unión y Lucha sectors, Municipality of El Negrito, Department of Yoro”.

The project to be financed with national funds contemplates the reconstruction of the dam sections with a total length of 1,805 linear meters, the construction of a stone breakwater with a linear length of 335 meters and the modification of the agricultural drainage channel for runoff. The Estero de Indios channel conducted during hurricanes Eta and Iota, causing great damage to property, rendering crops unusable, cutting roads and infrastructure. The failed fill will be constructed with clayey material, taking into account the required properties and perfect pressing process to obtain a uniform structure. The location of the large boulders should be placed in the breaker section, since the voids will be filled with smaller boulders to avoid impacts and ensure the stability of the structure. The material resulting from the reworking of the channel should be deposited on the sides of the channel, leaving a level platform with a sloping shape towards the channel.

The maximum construction period is 60 calendar days from the respective commencement order. The contractor must present, as signed in the contract, any of the following: Guarantee issued by a bank, Bond issued by an insurance company, Certified check payable to the order of the Employer or Honduran State Bonds representing public debt obligations.

Deadline for submission of bids: July 11th, 2022.
