The Guatemalan Tourism Institute (INGUAT), with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINEX), conducts virtual seminars to publicize the tourist sites of Guatemala and demonstrate the advantages of visiting and investing in the country, this as a policy to overcome the crisis caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic since the tourism industry has been one of the most affected with a loss of jobs of almost 150,000 and puts more than 400,000 in crisis.

These entities are promoting the country through virtual means that have become common in the current pandemic. These seminars reached a total of 150 participants from different countries that are within an established catalog.

Guatemala seeks to attract investment and tourism from the following countries: Japan, Germany, India, Australia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Belgium, Italy, Thailand, Israel, Russia, Ukraine, Panama, the Netherlands, South Africa, Nepal, Morocco, Bulgaria, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Canada, United States, Estonia.

The general framework of this promotion is to make Guatemala known as a tourist site and country for investment to wholesalers and travel agents, and that they can include the country as the main tourist destination in their packages, since investment in the Tourism Industry is a prop to overcome the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
