Investment Project

Tender of road works for USD 105 million in Nicaragua

The Municipality of Managua prepares the requirements to tender the project of expansion of the highway Juan Pablo II, which contemplates the construction of five overpasses and a bicycle lane; which will be constructed by phases to avoid a bigger traffic issue.

The project will be financed with a loan from the Central American Bank of Economic Integration (BCIE, by its acronyms in Spanish), approved by the National Assembly by the end of January. The authorities of the Municipality of Managua explained that they are intended to publish the tender this year and to start the works possibly on 2018.

The overpasses will be on El Periodista roundabout, the stoplights of Enel Central, Metrocentro, Cristo Rey roundabout and the stoplights of Plásticos Modernos.

Estimated cost of investment: USD 105 million
