Tania Medina is a Staff Attorney at García & Bodán in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.

Her expertise in the real estate sector spans a diverse array of responsibilities, encompassing the management of procedures essential for securing construction permits and environmental approvals crucial for urban development projects’ feasibility. Additionally, she adeptly navigates through procedures across various Fiscal Cadastre offices, facilitating the acquisition of certificates and cadastre confirmations, alongside plan approvals. Moreover, she possesses proficiency in drafting purchase and sale deeds supported by mortgages and proficiently registers mortgaged properties in the nation’s property registries, among other responsibilities.

In labor matters, her experience includes processing work permits and residence permits for foreigners before the corresponding government entity, drafting and reviewing contracts and agreements, executing and terminating contracts, and negotiating with labor unions. She has also managed licensing procedures in Occupational Health and Safety matters, as well as everything related to the process of forming joint commissions and drafting internal labor regulations.

Before joining the firm, she served as the Licenses and Permits Coordinator at a prominent multinational corporation specializing in retail marketing. In this role, she oversaw the processing of construction permits, environmental endorsements, and land use certificates necessary for project operation, construction, and remodeling endeavors in Nicaragua. Additionally, she managed various health licenses and occupational health and safety certifications for the operation of assigned stores, diligently ensuring compliance and timely renewal of licenses for points of sale.
