Since March 5, 2026, retroactive to January 1, workers in Nicaragua are subject to a new minimum wage following the approval of a 4% increase applicable across all economic sectors in the country. This adjustment will remain in effect until February 28, 2027.<\/p>\r\n

The only exception is the industry subject to a special regime, which is governed by a tripartite wage agreement signed in 2023. Under that agreement, the increase for this sector will be 6.7% in both 2026 and 2027.<\/p>\r\n
