The plan was delivered on September 26, 2025, to the Executive Branch by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing (CIV) and the National Agency for the Development of Economic Infrastructure Partnerships (ANADIE).<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The document proposes to organize traffic across the 17 municipalities that make up the Guatemala City metropolitan area through two main pillars: road infrastructure and integrated mobility.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h2><span style=\"color: #2263aa;\"><b>Main pillars and proposals<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Expanded coverage:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> The plan seeks to connect the municipalities of San Juan Sacatep\u00e9quez, San Raymundo, Chuarrancho, San Pedro Sacatep\u00e9quez, Mixco, Chinautla, San Pedro Ayampuc, San Jos\u00e9 del Golfo, Villa Nueva, Guatemala City, Palencia, San Miguel Petapa, Santa Catarina Pinula, San Jos\u00e9 Pinula, Amatitl\u00e1n, Villa Canales, and Fraijanes.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t<li><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Metropolitan transportation authority:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> The plan proposes the creation of a single entity responsible for route planning, schedule coordination, municipal collaboration, and regulation of mass public transportation services.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t<li><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">New routes and services:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> It includes the extension of existing lines, such as the <strong>Metrorriel<\/strong> toward Palencia and Villa Nueva, along with new connections from Mixco, El Obelisco, and Santa Catarina Pinula.
