Garc\u00eda & Bod\u00e1n strengthens its presence in Central America by incorporating Edna L\u00f3pez Toledo<\/a> as a Partner and Director of the Intellectual Property practice area in its El Salvador office.<\/p>\r\n

Prior to joining the law firm, Edna L\u00f3pez served as a Partner and Country Manager of a well-known regional firm and has over 15 years of experience in intellectual property. In her practice, she has advised on the authorization of trademarks for their use and registration; and in the management of administrative litigation before the Intellectual Property authorities of El Salvador. Her practice also extends to combating trademark counterfeiting, copyright, and patent rights.<\/p>\r\n

She is a leading figure in intellectual property in El Salvador and is recognized as such both nationally and internationally.<\/p>\r\n

“Our Partner Julio Vargas will continue as the Regional Director of the Intellectual Property practice area at Garc\u00eda & Bod\u00e1n and now as Managing Partner of the San Jos\u00e9, Costa Rica office, will begin to get more involved in the corporate and transactional matters of the firm<\/em>,” stated Terencio Garc\u00eda<\/a>, Regional Managing Partner of the firm.<\/p>\r\n

According to Terencio Garc\u00eda, “Edna comes to occupy the position previously held by Julio in El Salvador. What’s interesting about Edna is that she is a person with vast experience in the field of intellectual property, extremely well-known nationally and internationally for her expertise, participating in the Boards of Directors of various national and international intellectual property organizations, and is the current president of the Salvadoran Intellectual Property Association (ASPI). She is an extremely hardworking, disciplined, persevering, ethical, and honest person who will significantly strengthen the El Salvador team. The presence of Edna does not mean that Julio’s departure goes unnoticed, that’s not true. Julio left a legacy, an extremely important mark of intellectual property in the country, internationally and in Garc\u00eda & Bod\u00e1n. But without a doubt, Edna from another perspective comes to bring a very important impetus, that is, from a technical point of view, the clientele will not feel the difference, at all.<\/em>“<\/p>\r\n
