{"id":14901,"date":"2021-03-03T16:18:21","date_gmt":"2021-03-03T15:18:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/garciabodan.com\/?p=14901"},"modified":"2025-08-11T19:59:36","modified_gmt":"2025-08-11T17:59:36","slug":"mojolka-hydroelectric-project-in-nicaragua","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/garciabodan.com\/en\/mojolka-hydroelectric-project-in-nicaragua\/","title":{"rendered":"Mojolka hydroelectric project in Nicaragua"},"content":{"rendered":"The Mojolka hydroelectric project will be located on the Tuma River in the North-Central region of Nicaragua, in the department of Matagalpa, Nicaragua.\n\nWith the construction of the Mojolka hydroelectric project, an installed capacity of 120 MW will be obtained, with a primary energy production of 585 Gwh\/year, which are intended to be incorporated into the National Electricity System to meet the demand of the Nicaraguan population.\n\nCurrently, much of the country&#8217;s electricity generation is based on fossil fuels, creating a significant dependence on imported petroleum derivatives, negatively affecting tariffs on end consumers, causing increases as their price increases in the international market.
