This initiative arises as a result of the importance of generating preventive constructions in the region in a way that develops security for countries, contributing to the fight against climate change.\n\nThe project has been valued at USD 5.8 million dollars so that the Government of Honduras can finance the procurement of consulting firms to develop feasibility studies of 6 different dams, including Quebrada La Relumbrosa \u2013 La Ceiba, Atl\u00e1ntida; Jal\u00e1n River \u2013 Juticalpa, Olancho; Choluteca River, Hernando L\u00f3pez (Rio Hondo) \u2013 Tegucigalpa, Francisco Moraz\u00e1n; Leotuna River \u2013 Maraita, Francisco Moraz\u00e1n: Guangololo River \u2013 La Paz, La Paz: Texiguat River \u2013 Texiguat, Paradise.\n\nThe project\u00b4s main objective will be to identify the technical and economic requirements necessary for the construction of the six land dams that have a multipurpose character, and to strengthen the regulation of flows and thus the capacity to mitigate damage in case of floods, as well as the water supply for human consumption and irrigation to production.
