The Integral System of Information of Environmental Health (SISAM by its acronym in Spanish), based on Health Code, the Technical Regulations for Central America 67.01.31:07, the COMIECO Resolution N° 269-2011 and the rest of Sanitary Regulations, is the new platform applied by the Ministry of Health in El Salvador along with the Department of Environmental Health of Food and Beverages Unite, to file health registration for national and imported products, homologations for the Central America region and importation of these products.
Domiciled and non-domiciled foreign companies may have access to this platform, for which an ID number with a password is assigned to enter the system. The legal department is in charge of reviewing and authorizing the documents. Once all the requirements are fulfilled, the companies are able to filing requests.
The immediate purpose of the system is to accelerate and make more efficient the filing and the course of the process, to build an organized data base of food and beverages products that are distributed in the country and to reduce physical papers when presenting the files of each product. On the other hand, this platform provides a more strict control of the products imported to the country, bringing benefits to the Salvadorian consumers.
